Background: Raised in tribe of (noticably ugly) warriors, he had little contact with outsiders, and was thusly deluded into thinking he is "beautiful" by his tribesman, when in actuality he is pretty homely looking: Think a mix of conan the barbarian and dudely do-right (http://argentera.inria.fr/wiki/pub/dudley_doright.jpg). Having this misplaced perception of himself, and the incredible strength and skills of a barbarian, most people who meet him just let him think whatever he likes, and many still ironically call him "Bethar the Beautiful" Bethar's tribe eventually became sedentary after many were too old to roam the world, and many left the tribe to explore the world on their own. Bethar happens to be one of those people with wanderlust. Bethar also has a rather noticable scar on his left temple. (He had a large wart there, but it was brutally ripped off during his younger years in a vicious teenage brawl. Those kind of fights were commonplace in his tribe)
